Reflecting on Magdy Stephan

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. And thankfully for us, it’s where we came from that helps shape our commitment to our clients.

When we reflect why we behave, refine our business and relate to people the way we do, we realise that it is naturally and feels like it is in our blood.

Our Father was an extraordinary man. His name was Magdy Stephan and he immigrated to Australia from Cairo back in the 1970s. Although he was an educated man, having graduated from Cairo University with an accountancy degree, he felt that he needed to refine his English. In the early days he continued to study English as he worked as a tram conductor. He was passionate about education and self -improvement.

Our Father started his own tax practice back in 1981. He loved financial planning. He loved the way it could contribute so positively to people’s lives.  In fact, he was so enamoured with the power that financial planning could have over people’s lives that he eventually became one of the pioneer academics in Financial Planning at RMIT University.

One thing that has always been strong in our business is the clarity around our vision and values.  This clarity has a profound impact on our team culture and consequentially the way we manage the relationships with clients and professionals we work with.  We thank our father for the strength of his convictions and our proud adoption of his legacy.

Our mission is to see and contribute to a future where family’s live lives with intention and purpose. Where a family’s freedom, flexibility and values are upheld over purely financial motivations.  We strive to refine our wealth management process to ensure our client’s aspirations and financial strategies meet in the most effective and purposeful way. We are driven to strike a balance between consultation, collaboration and education to ensure change is not limited to our clients but to be provided as a legacy to children, friends and family who are connected with our clients.

Our day to day interactions are guided by the following values

  • We care for our clients as if they are family
  • We succeed when our clients succeed
  • What is best for our clients is best practice
  • Our strategies enrich our client’s lives
  • We strive to excel for the betterment of our profession
